Mountain E-Bike
What makes a bike a mountain bike?
The mountain bike is the predestined piece of sports equipment for all cyclists who have become bored with asphalt roads. A mountain bike, regardless of whether it has no suspension or full suspension, is designed for riding off-road. This includes profiled and wide tyres as well as powerful brakes. In terms of suspension, there are a few differences depending on the discipline. Where a simple suspension fork with a maximum of 100mm travel is sufficient for a normal touring rider, the downhill rider has full suspension with around 200mm and more.
Your challenge
You like to ride your mountain bike in nature and discover remote areas. You really enjoy riding downhill, but going uphill beforehand is too strenuous for you and your tours are getting shorter and shorter because you often run out of breath? Then the option would be to buy an expensive e-bike and put your beloved mountain bike in the corner. But that doesn't have to be the case, because with the Pendix eDrive you can turn your bike into an e-mountain bike.
Our offer: Your mountain e-bike with Pendix drive system
Upgrade your mountain bike with the Pendix eDrive and you'll easily master the mountains. You will retain the familiar riding experience and thanks to the silent motor, you can continue to enjoy the nature around you. If you only want to do a flat and short tour, you can simply ride without the battery. On a longer tour, you can decide for yourself when you want to ride with or without assistance, because thanks to the lack of a gearbox, you hardly feel any pedalling resistance when the drive is switched off. The assistance can be switched back on just as quickly.
Retrofitting a hardtail mountain bike is possible without any problems. Depending on the length of the tour, the Pendix eDrive 300 or Pendix eDrive 500 is suitable. We recommend a battery strap, as the vibrations in rocky terrain can cause rattling noises.
If you have a full-suspension mountain bike, i.e. a fully suspended bike, it is essential to check first whether the motor and battery have enough space and do not come into contact with the swing arm of the suspension. Use our template to test whether the Pendix eDrive fits on your mountain bike.
